Sleeping...night 3

Last night was the third night in a row (knock on wood) that Nick basically slept through the night. He has been going down around 9:30pm, and sleeping until about 6:00am. There is some fussing along the way, but he is not getting up to eat. Mostly the fussing is because he wakes up just enough to want his pacifier, or he's kicked enough in his sleep (probably karate dreams) that he's kicked a leg out of his swaddle-me blanket, and he's uncomfortable (or cold).

The first night it was about 2:30am that he woke up fussing. I got up, put his pacifier back in his mouth, and he fell back asleep within about a minute.

The next night it was about 3:30am when he woke up fussing. I again got up, fixed his swaddle blanket, gave him back his pacifier, and he was out within about 30 seconds.

Last night, it was 4:00am and he started fussing. I got up, went in his room, and realized he had stuck his foot through a hole on his swaddle-me blanket, and looked incredibly uncomfortable. I re-swaddled him (without picking him up out of the crib), put his pacifier back in his mouth, and before I could even pull my hand out of his crib, he was completely out.

Granted, he did start fussing again around 5ish, when Todd was getting up for work, but I could tell he was fussing in his sleep, and didn't really need our intervention, even though I sent Todd in to replace his pacifier anyway.

Each morning we have been getting up at about 6:00am for his first bottle of the day. Yesterday his daycare provider told me he napped noon-3 like all of the "big kids" (they're all between 1 1/2 - 2 years old). And when I picked him up, he was wide awake and smiling and happy. I think this new routine is working for him, which is exciting for all of us. I'm hoping I can start getting him down for bed a little earlier each night, but I hate the thought of putting him down to bed before I go to bed, because I like to spend as much waking time together as possible. I don't want to get him home from daycare and have to turn right around and put him down for bed. Of course I say that now...but in a few short years, I'm sure I'll be ready for him to go to bed at 6:00pm! :) But for now I'm going to enjoy this stage of his life...it's by far my favorite so far! Even if I don't have much more than 3 months to base it on ;)
