Let's hear it for the boys!
This weekend is Todd's bachelor party. Yup - Memorial Day weekend. Pools will be opening (do we even belong to a pool? I'll have to check the HOA docs...). Grills will be smokin'. Tans will be forming. And I will be lonely.
HA, that makes me sound desperate! No seriously though, I'm super excited for Todd because I know how much he loves his "boys" and a long weekend of male camaraderie is definitely on the list of things Todd deserves considering how patient he consistently is with me.
SO... tonight, Jay (best man, best friend, best TLC watcher) will be driving down to stay with us for the night(although I may not see him because Scranton, PA...excuse me, Valley Forge is it, now?...wherever they live, is pretty darn far from Springfield, VA, so I might be sleeping when he arrives in the wee hours of the night/morning). Then tomorrow, at some undisclosed time (which may be 'undisclosed' so that I'm not calling every five minutes tomorrow asking Todd if he has fed, walked, peed & pooped the dog) the boys...all 10 or so of them...will be piling in cars loaded with junk food, toilet paper, various cuts of meat (crazy carnivores), and bourbon...faaaar too much bourbon...and taking off for a cabin in the woods.
Let me clarify. This is not a cabin, but in fact a 12 person mansion with an abundance of comfortable beds, a gorgeous new kitchen with granite counter tops, a pool table, ping-pong table, foos-ball table, and an x-box. And this is not technically the woods, but rather a "wooded-area" in Massanutten. But who really wants to "rough it" anyway during their last official trip as a single man? Not my mountain man!
Anyway, I know they are going to have a blast between being disgusting, farting, burping, not showering, saying lewd and crude things, calling each other weird and gross nicknames, peeing outdoors, getting overly drunk, playing uber competitive rounds of golf, pool, darts, ping-pong, video games, and foos ball, and all around being super "MANLY". I hope they take lots of PG and G rated pictures for us all to enjoy.
I wonder if Todd will call me...? ;)
If I knew how to do a poll, this is where I would insert it with the following answer choices:
a. no chance, he'll be too inebriated
b. no chance, he'll be too involved in the game room competitions
c. no chance, he'll be at a bar
d. no chance, he'll be playing golf
e. maybe, if everyone else in the house passes out
f. of course, you're his bride-to-be who he can't be without speaking to for even a day!
my choice would be f., but I have a good feeling it's a tie between a, b, c, and d. Nope -- I'm not bothered by that! As long as they're safe, I'm happy.
My Memorial Day weekend plans pretty much consist of wedding related items such as stuffing invitations, putting together favors, and finishing bridesmaid gifts. But I hope to throw in a little sun-bathing, some good cocktails in the sunshine, spending time with my family, working out, shopping -- within my limits!, some delicious BBQ foods, organizing some of the less-organized parts of our house, and catching up on sleeping in and being lazy!
Memorial Day = 2 month marker til our wedding!

To do list.
We're quickly coming up on the exactly two month mark. Memorial Day will mark this milestone in wedding planning world, and while we all feel pretty accomplished, there is still a mile-long list of things left to be done. So at the request of my beautiful, loving, amazing-wedding-planner mother, I am making my to do list. If it looks like I have left anything off, PLEASE let me know.
1. Call hotel, book room for night prior (me & girls) and night of (me & Todd).
2. Make hair, nail, make-up appointments. -- mail in official make-up contract and deposit!
3. Bridal luncheon.
4. Call DJ, review songs.
5. Officially ask my "reader" to do a reading.
6. Get said 'reading' from marriage officiant.
7. Put together favors.
8. Finish invites, mail them.
9. Get passports for honeymoon.
10. Oh wait -- we should probably officially book the honeymoon first...
11. Marriage License/Certificate...not until 30 days prior or less.
12. Tasting - booked on May 30th, then finalize menu .
13. Finalize table settings.
14. Aisle runner? Needed? Provided?
15. Wedding party gifts.
16. Gifts for each other.
17. Gifts for parents.
18. LIMO!
19. Programs for ceremony...MORE printing...eek!
20. Guest book/Guest book table.
21. Security. No I'm just kidding. But I did see a wedding check-list that had "security" on it. Which I got a good laugh out of.
22. Hotel welcome bags.
23. Practice sweet dance moves.
24. Cake topper.
25. Other related topics include: see dermatologist (gotta have that perfect wedding day skin!), work harder at gym (gotta have that perfect wedding day butt!), get hair highlighted (gotta have that perfect wedding day hair!), whiten teeth (gotta have that perfect wedding day smile!), don't get too stressed (gotta have that perfect wedding day attitude!) :)
Seriously I know I'm leaving off a million other important things.

A "no time to update", update.
I am almost done with my shower thank you's - thank GOODNESS.
My hair trial is this Saturday.
Mom and I already started stuffing invitations -- she created the insert with directions/reception info./hotel info. -- they are awesome. The invitations are gorgeous (I'm biased, but whatever, you know mom would only have the most beautiful of invites - and I love her for that!) Todd and I will go over Saturday morning to really get the ball rolling on stuffing the invites. Then he'll go home and Mom and I will go to my hair trial.
Got the contract for the make-up -- yes ladies, I got Emily! Super psyched about this :)
Tasting is May 30th and it looks like Todd has to work that day. But it's the only Saturday that Regency can do, so I'm in a bit of a pickle -- can't really reschedule. Hopefully it'll work out.
Next weekend (Memorial Day weekend) is Todd's Bachelor Party. Jay is coming into town on Thursday night to stay with us before they leave, so that'll be fun to have him as a house guest!
(PS - if any of my lady friends want to have a wine night that weekend, holler at me!)
My bridal party gifts are coming together -- super cute, but of course I can't post any details here b/c most of my girls follow this blog...
In need of a limo. Any discount suggestions are very welcome.
Hmm...what else...that's all I can think of for now...too much work and other such things to do.
IT'S CRUNCH TIME!!
And I love it :)

Wedding dreams...
This morning I woke up in a serious fit of laughter. I have had some crazy, silly, strange, and even scary wedding dreams so far, but this one might take the cake.
Let me preface this dream sequence by saying that (as you all know) I have been slightly freaking out about having my make-up done on my wedding day.
Anyway, the dream started out fine...all of my lovely ladies and I were getting ready for the wedding, hanging out, ready to go down the aisle, when all of a sudden I realized I wasn't wearing any make-up (HUGE deal for me if you know me). I started panicking and yelling to my mom that nobody had come to do my make-up! She said "well you're about to walk down the aisle!" So I was asking everyone to find me some make-up. Anyway, I don't know how that turned out because all of a sudden I was at the end of the aisle, and I was married. To an Asian guy that I had never met before, but reminded me a lot of Todd. (I have nothing against Asian men, but as you know, Todd is not Asian, so this was incredibly perplexing). I couldn't remember anything about the wedding, which was disturbing, but I didn't seem too distraught about it because as far as I knew I was married to Todd...just an Asian version of Todd (this could quite possibly have something to do with my obsession with Jon & Kate plus 8 and how I want to have 8 Asian babies...but that's for another blog post). Anyway, we were all standing around chatting when Jarrett (Monica's fiance) jumped out and said "Hey Monica! Let's get married right now!" Suddenly we were all (magically) in street clothes (jeans and t-shirts...yes even me, who had been in a wedding gown up until this point) and Monica was in a frilly, flowery wedding gown (TOTALLY not her style) and Jarrett was in a linen shirt and khaki's (like they were having a beach wedding...only no beach around) and they were walking down the aisle. BUT WAIT -- They weren't just walking! They were skipping and dancing down the aisle as all of us (the rest of my wedding party - guys and girls) were also skipping and dancing and singing (in unison!) "I Just Can't Wait to be King!" from The Lion King. WHAT?!?! SO FREAKING RANDOM!! Well I woke up just as Monica and Jarrett sealed the deal with their first kiss as man and wife to the tune of "Oh I just can't WAIT to be Kiiiiing!!"
And I haven't been able to get the song out of my head all morning.
Hilarious -- I had to call Monica at work this morning to tell her the story. She was crying from laughing so hard.
This dream might have beat out the "pink bridesmaid dresses, and Lori getting too drunk to walk down the aisle" dream as craziest wedding dream I've had thus far...although that one was pretty hilarious too. (Oh you haven't heard it? Here's the recap -- All of my bridesmaids showed up in pink dresses. I like pink, but it's totally not my style wedding wise, so I was very upset. And then Lori drank too many cocktails prior to the wedding ceremony and couldn't stand up and was falling all over the place, laughing hysterically, so she couldn't walk down the aisle. But it was actually sort of funny and I wasn't really upset about it for some reason...anyway she has since assured me that she will NOT be drunk prior to the walk down the aisle :) -- she's a good MOH)
Jenny assured me this morning over email (with the sweetest possible email tone she could muster) that unfortunately, the dreams will only get worse up until the wedding day. BUT, that it was all part of the fun of getting married! :) As long as they keep being this entertaining and crazy, I think I can deal.
SIDE NOTE:
Thank you to all of my fabulous lady friends to pointed me in the direction of a make-up person. I had previously contacted this specific person that had done make up for Lori, Jenny, and my friend/sorority sister Cami's weddings. Unfortunately I hadn't heard anything back -- but all three of them convinced me to try again, so yesterday I submitted an online request, and this morning I got a reply!! I'll be scheduling a trial run soon. On another note, I scheduled my hair trial for May 16th, which is SUPER exciting!!
