On Saturday, Mom and I had a girls day, while Todd and Nick had a Father-Son day.
The original plan was for mom and I to just go get manicures and pedicures, but before arriving at her house that morning, she found an ad online for a yard sale one neighborhood over from her house. The ad promised tons of baby items. We figured it would be worth it to check it out on our way to the nail salon.
A full Jeep Grand Cherokee and $34.75 later, we came home with the biggest yard sale haul, for the lowest price, I'd ever seen!

Evenflo Car Seat = $5.00
We bought this Evenflo car seat with the grand idea of putting it in the Mitsubishi for a couple of months so that Todd could pick up Nick from daycare every now and then. Unfortunately when we got it home and pulled the top from the base, we noticed in HUGE letters the words "DO NOT USE AFTER DECEMBER 2009". Mom asked a police officer about it, and sure enough, he said if we were to use the car seat and get in an accident, insurance would not cover the baby b/c the seat is expired. So now it's going in the trash. But hey, it was only $5.
6 bibs = $0.50
3 onesie extensions = $0.25
"What to Expect: The Toddler Years" = $2.00 (retails $16.95 in stores!)
New Halo Sleep Sack = $1.00
Changing Pad + 3 Changing Pad covers (I have a changing pad, but I wanted extra covers and they wouldn't sell separately) = $3.00 (retails for $15 per cover in stores!)
Babies R Us sun shade for car window = free with car seat
VT onesie = free
"My first Christmas" sleeper = $1.00 (it's 9 months...Nick will be 10 months in December and at the rate he's growing, he probably won't fit in it, but perhaps I can take pics of him in it in September...)
After the first yard sale, Mom and I went to get our nails done. I didn't take any pics of our nails, but we settled on the same color for our toes (which I also got on my nails, and am loving despite my husbands aversion to brightly painted fingernails).
On our way home, we decided on a whim, to swing in to a Church rummage sale, and found a set of golf clubs. I called Todd and he said "for that price, I could sell them for double...get them!"
Our car was packed full from yard sale #1, so I had to ride with the clubs on my lap...
Ping Zing irons, a Ping putter, 2 Callaway Big Bertha drivers, Several OLD Wilson woods, 3 Callaway head covers, and a really beat up golf bag = $10.00 (Todd is going to restore the clubs and then decide what to do with them...i.e. cut them down for Nick, or sell them back to Golf Galaxy for a much bigger price than we bought them for)
After that we were out of cash, out of car space, and starving...so we headed back to mom's where she made us tomato/basil/mozzarella salads with balsamic & olive oil for lunch. SO delicious. I could eat this every day!
After lunch, I helped mom pick out an outfit to wear to the 8th Grade Grad dance that night, as well as approved her outfit for her upcoming retirement party. Then we loaded up the Mitsubishi and I headed home.
I couldn't wait to get home to my sweet boy :)

A little tummy time (looking like mommy here, I think!)
Tummy time doesn't often last long as Nick typically starts screaming or barfs...poor guy.
The Graco swing didn't fit in the Mitsubishi, so on Sunday we headed back to mom & dad's to pick it up...and when we brought it home later, Nick showed us just how happy he was to have a new swing...
