Today' marks my mom's very last day of doing what she loves the most -- teaching. It's a very bittersweet day for her, as she's looking forward to the next phase of her life in retirement, but is going to miss her school, her students, her teacher friends, and the career she has been passionate about for nearly 35 years. I'm so proud of her and thankful for the teaching she has done -- for many of my friends, tons of my school peers, and most of all my brother and me. She is an incredible teacher in and out of the classroom. She has touched so many lives, and every life she has touched is the better for knowing her. Congratulations, Mom!!
Today also marks my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary! Talk about a triumph! I can only hope that one day Todd and I will be celebrating our 60th anniversary...surrounded by our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. It fills my heart to see my grandparents still so in love and caring for each other as if no time has passed at all. And after 60 years of marriage, they still look damn good! Congratulations, Gramma & Grampa!!

**And seriously...can I be blessed with these genes? Mom doesn't look nearly old enough to be retired, and my grandparents don't look nearly old enough to have been married 60 years!**

I'm proud to say that b/c of the teaching I got from your Mom, I instantly knew that that was a periodic table made out of cupcakes! :) Way to go, Mama H!
And happy Anniversary to your g-rents! How wonderful to make it through 60+ years and come out more in love than ever!
