More like a full out dinner than a tasting!

On Saturday we had our tasting. Sadly Todd had to work, so my parents accompanied me to the Regency to sit down to eat some yummy wedding food.

They started us with the salad, and two dressings -- both of which will be choices on each table. Salad was great -- pretty standard in terms of salad, but enjoyable none-the-less. Rolls were fantastic as well -- I could have eaten 10. I opted for just one. Wedding dress to wear, HELLO!

Then they brought out the entrees. I guess I was expecting that they'd bring out a little sampling of each item...you know, a tiny bite of beef, a little piece of chicken, a dollop of mashed potatoes, a couple of green beans. Nope. Four HUGE plates came out. Two chicken, two beef, ALL served on a bed of mashed potatoes with a generous side of green beans. The presentation was beautiful, and the food was even better!! I guess it should have been expected, considering The Regency has it's own executive chef on site and everything is made fresh.

I won't give away too many details so there is some surprise, but I recommend if you're coming with a date, that one of you get the beef, and one of you get the chicken. That way you can sample the best of both worlds :)

Also, we changed the appetizers around a bit which really excites me, and judging from our entrees, I know all the appetizers for the cocktail hour will be awesome. A little hint - quoting from one of Todd's (and my) all time favorite movies:
"Oh, and if you see any crab cakes, get your hands on some because I love the crab cakes."
"Consider it done."

AND, side note to the bridal party, we WILL be having a bridal party only open bar prior to ceremony. Just please, no getting wasted prior to walking down the looooong aisle in the amphitheatre... I'd be sad if anyone tripped, fell, or you know...threw up.

This morning Jenny sent me an email with the subject title "OMG, you're getting married NEXT month!" Very true...and so crazy. I can't believe how fast time is flying! Time to buckle down and get more organized...never realized just how many small details go into having a wedding. I mean, who's going to make sure my Wedding Dress gets securely back to my parents house when we depart for our honeymoon?!?!

OH, and PS. We're going to Punta Cana. That's right -- all inclusive, clear water, white sandy beaches at the Paradisus Palma Real. I. Can. Not. Wait. Thank goodness it'll be here before we know it!

PPS. I had another weird wedding dream last night. For some reason everything happened "out of order" in terms of schedule wise for the wedding. At one point in the middle of the reception, Todd and I left so I could go to the doctor, and when we got back it was 11:30pm and we still had to cram in our first dance, cake cutting, AND dancing, all before midnight. The guests were not impressed. BUT I'm happy to report that I felt like I looked amazing...so it wasn't a total loss :) Regardless, I was happy to wake up and have that dream be over quickly...will they ever stop?!
