As we are about to embark on the greatest journey of our lives together, I just wanted to make sure you knew how much I appreciate you. All that you do for me, as I lay helplessly on the couch on bed rest, does not go unnoticed. The chores you do, and errands you run are not for naught. You may not be thrilled at the thought of having to run to the store to buy a 24 pack of overnight maxi-pads, but you didn't blink an eye at scooting off to the store to buy the necessary breast pump, at $250.00.
You haven't complained once about how much resting, TV watching, and all around laziness I get to do. You make or pick me up dinner every night, and bring me breakfast every morning. You bring me my blood pressure pills at the correct corresponding hours, and you sit next to me and rub my back or hold my hand when you can tell I'm needing some attention.
Your excitement about the arrival or our baby boy makes me even more excited than I thought possible. And your calming nature has kept me much more level headed than I should be at this point. You keep me focused on the "prize" at hand -- our baby boy. And every time I mention something about our lives forever changing, you smile with your killer dimples, and say "I know!" as if you know some secret about how amazing our lives are going to become. It's like you already know what a huge gift our baby boy is going to be, and you can't wait to have him here. You love our dog, Whinnie, as if she was the only dog on earth, and knowing how much you can love another life, gives me this huge sense of fulfillment in knowing how much you will love our son.
You are going to be an incredible father, just as you are an incredible husband. Nicholas Matthew and I are so lucky to have you. Our family is growing, and there is nobody I would rather take this journey with than you. Thank you for all you do for all of us. We love you more than words could ever describe.
All my love,
Your wife
