I received a phone call today from a very sweet person on the second floor of our office building who recently returned from maternity leave after giving birth to the most adorable baby girl -- and might I add, who managed to blog her way through the pregnancy, the birth, the maternity leave, and continues to do so now that she's back at work. Her office and our office work closely together on several things so when I saw her number come up on our caller ID today, I assumed it was a scheduling call. And I was excited to hear from her, since the last time we talked was while the bun in her oven was still cooking (minus a few facebook comments and updates along the way).
The conversation went like this (after a little idle chatter):
Her: "this call is totally un-work related"
Me: "sweet!"
Her: "are you ever going to blog again, or should I delete you from my que?"
I told her (read: begged her) to not delete me with the promise that I would begin blogging very soon. I gave her the scenario that it was much like the build up of anticipation to writing my thank you notes...I was nervous about finding the perfect words to recap such a wonderful event (duh, our wedding), and just thinking about writing about it gave me writer's block/nerves/etc. I explained the internal conversation I had with myself, where I told myself that I would hold off on coming out of blog-hiding until someone inquired about my disappearance from the blogsphere. (Or worse, threatened to stop following me. I only have 5 followers for crying out loud).
So without further ado, and much gratitude to my anonymous (unless she wants to comment on this post and reveal herself and her adorable blog!) friend...
I'm back!
Now to figure out a new blog title...because, well, Sweet Melissa already got married!
